And so another week of glitz and glamour on the Strictly Dance Floor has gone by and wasn’t it as sparkly and entertaining as ever!
Here at DSI HQ we just love to watch the stars improve week on week and especially enjoy watching the costumes come to life on screen.
Yet again, Vicky Gill did a wonderful job with all the costumes – our favourites particularly being the more theme based costumes as seen on Krystina, who was dressed in an air hostess inspired number of course dancing with Daniel but who unfortunately got voted off on Sunday nights show.
Dancing with the very handsome Aljaz, there was Helen whose dress had a very medical element to it; perfect to reflect her role in “Call the Midwife”.
Even the opening dance to the results show was spectacular to watch, not just for the dancing but for the 80’s inspired attire – the pros looked brilliant, and we loved the ankle socks!
Also did anyone spot recent International Professional Latin finalist Neil Jones? All in all it was a very eclectic week for dance fashion as well as for the choreography - a great one to watch.
As Worn by Kellie Bright
Kellie captures the beautifully nostalgic feel to this dance with Kevin.
With her retro hair and make up the dress finished off the look perfectly.
Dressed in DSI Pale turquoise she wore a leotard and skirt combination.
In a sample fabric with 3D flowers all over this added the perfect feminine floral finish to the outfit.
With a satin band in Pale turquoise stretch satin creating that cinched in 40’s waistline and the princess length hemline, the whole dress oozed with a sense of “time gone by”.
The same stretch satin was also used on the trim of the halter neck line marrying the two pieces together.
With a small circular neck piece with delicate sew on stones by Swarovski the dress needed no more decoration – a truly stunning understated piece.
As worn by Katie Derham
What a week for Anton, let alone Katie!
With a 9 from Darcy, Anton’s face was a dream to witness – just like their Viennese Waltz.
Wearing a beautifully decorated tan and champagne dress this one was full of detail.
With a boat neckline and elegant ¾ length sleeves this bodice was made of Flesh lycra.
The detail was all in the rhinestones. With a wide variety of sizes and colours mixed with sew on stones this bodice is a piece of art.
The skirt is a circular skirt made with a Champagne sample fabric.
This consists of 3D flower decoration which adds body yet softens the finish.
Lined with Champagne twinkle the skirt has a perfect fluidity to it.
An exquisite design from Vicky Gill.
