Saturday Night at the Movies indeed it was!
With movies from Rocky to Star Wars and Happy feet to Lady and the Trap, last week’s Strictly surely had something for everyone.
Costume designer Vicky Gill did a fantastic job this week capturing the characters of each film within the contestant’s costumes.
From the simpler white shirt accompanied by leggings for Aliona dancing to Kill Bill to the full on perfectly coordinated canine inspired costumes of Kirsty and Brendan – each individual had the perfect outfit to match their respective dances.
It was a night full of stars but none shone brighter than Jay from The Wanted who scored the first 10 of the series for his outstanding jive!
It truly was a spectacular show and one not to be missed!
As worn by Helen George
Helen, dancing with Alijaz danced the slow Foxtrot for the film “Some Like it Hot” which famously stars the icon that is Marilyn Monroe.
With a sweetheart neckline this dress instantly captures the sweetheart nature of Ms Monroe in the film. She played a lovable yet ditzy character and this innocence if mirrored in the Rose pink colour that the dress is predominantly made in.
It features a layered stiff net skirt on top of layers of twinkle which is then unusually finished with a top layer of navy stiff net – this adds a depth a sophistication to an otherwise very sweet and pretty gown.
It has a low back which is broken up with a Silver stretch satin band across the lower part of that back and the entire bust area is encrusted with Preciosa Crystal AB Rhinestones.
As worn Georgie May Foote
Georgia was a true Bond Girl dancing the rumba last Saturday.
She wore a classy yet sophisticated black crepe dress with long sleeves and an asymmetric hemline.
This was a no frills number – much like you’d expect from a Bond girl.
It was sexy and to the point and was lined in Flamenco red lycra which was the perfect combination to add that extra touch of detail.
The red cuffs picked up on this detail and were decorated in Light Siam Preciosa Rhinestones to give it that extra sparkle.
The entirety of the dress was covered in rhinestones and in no particular pattern, just simple and to the point.
To the back there is a large keyhole opening which is nicely finished off with a cowl draped back, again with the flamenco red lining to mirror the inside of the skirt and cuffs.
