It was a week for the women last Saturday; with an unintentional theme of female empowerment the ladies stole the show over the weekend!
With the introduction dance to “I’m a woman” featuring the beautiful professional dancers strutting their stuff on the results show, Helen scoring three 10’s from the judges and having five ladies left in the competition, girl power is stronger than ever!
Let’s take a look at their dresses:
As worn by Kellie Bright
Kellie danced the Salsa with Kevin and what a stunning figure! That’s true confidence and rightly so; wearing a two piece, Kellie was dressed in a Hawaiian pink skirt and Bugle Beads covered top.
Her skirt was made from Hawaiian pink Mesh, cut into panels with godet inserts.
Finished with 3” Soft Boning to the hem to kick it out at the bottom and a purple Lycra waistband for a fun contrasting colour, scattered with the improved New Crystal AB Rhinestones from Preciosa.
Her top was made from another complimentary fun colour in Barbados Lycra which was then covered in graduated coloured Bugle Beads and Cut Beads in Tangerine, Hawaiian pink, Silver and Turquoise.
What a fun and colourful dress! Perfect for her Salsa and very reminiscent of the party and carnival theme.
As worn by Katie Derham
In Darcy’s words, Katie looked “drop dead gorgeous” dancing the Argentine Tango with Anton on Saturday. The perfect dance to embody female empowerment and her dress was a very classy, yet sexy number.
Dressed in Emerald, the main fabric used for the base of this dress was Lycra.
Cut with a sweetheart neckline topped with Emerald Mesh to create a higher but sheer boat neckline, trimmed with a neat row of Olivine Flat Back Pearls mixed with Emerald AB Preciosa Rhinestones.
This stoning detail was encrusted on the bust to accentuate the sweetheart neck detail.
The Emerald AB Rhinestones then continue evenly down the body of the dress which brings us to the fringe skirt of 30cm Tactel Fringe in complementary colours of Emerald underneath Zircon and cut to size up the leg; the perfect design to enhance her long legs.
As worn by Helen George
Collecting three 10’s from the judges for her Viennese Waltz on Saturday Helen was close to perfection. Looking like a princess in her Pale turquoise dress she was the leading lady over the weekend.
The skirt of the dress was constructed from Pale turquoise Stretch Satin in Panels which were then topped with white Georgette to soften the colour.
The hem was finished off with a double layer technique in both widths of 3” and 6” Soft Boning to give it even more body.
There’s was a slight touch of gold added to the hem to reflect the decoration in the top with a hidden layer of Gold 3” Soft Boning.
The top, made from Pale turquoise Mesh was cut into a low boat neckline with spaghetti straps to the shoulders.
From the waist up it was covered with mesh “petals” which are only secured at the top to allow for extra movement which were further enhanced by being individually trimmed with Gold Bugle Beads.
A truly winning design for Helen.
