UK Closed: the results!

The best of British talent gathered in Dorset from 26th to 29th July for an action-packed few days on the dance floor at Bournemouth Summer Festival and we are proud to report that our DSI Elite Performers and sponsored dancers left with plenty to celebrate.

The unstoppable Glenn-Richard Boyce and Cäroly Jänes, at just 16 and 15, won the UK Closed Under 21 Latin, the UK Closed Under 21 Ballroom and the UK Closed Amateur 10-Dance, with DSI’s Oliver Beardmore and his partner, Zoe Cunningham, coming second in all three events. Glenn-Richard and Cäroly even made the final of the UK Closed Amateur Ballroom, in which they were placed sixth.

Another pair who returned home laden with trophies were DSI Elite Performers Maxim Morris and Olivia King, who won the Under 14 UK Closed Ballroom and came second in the Under 14 UK Closed Latin. At just 12, this talented pair are already making the Junior finals – they came fourth in the Junior UK Closed 10-Dance and fifth in the UK Closed Junior Ballroom

Meanwhile DSI Elite Performer Gunnar Gunnarsson and his partner Marika Doshoris triumphed in the Professional Latin, while Elite Performers Lloyd Perry and Rebecca Scott came second in the UK Closed Amateur Latin, with DSI’s Luke Miller and Ellie Beacock in fourth place in the same competition.

In fact, it was a good trip to Bournemouth for all of the Perry family, with Ella Perry and her partner Kristofer Ponomarenko winning the UK Closed Junior Latin.

As for one of our youngest partnerships, Nathan Storey and Olivia Smorga came second in both the Juvenile Ballroom and Latin. Huge congratulations to you all! And don’t forget, if you missed the UK Closed, it will up SOON for viewing on DSI TV!
