Strictly Dresses - Semi Final

For the Semi Final of Strictly Come Dancing 2016 each couple stepped up to the challenge of dancing two performances on this week's show! We fell in love with Claudia's beautiful Ballroom dress and Oti's spicy Salsa dress designed by Vicky Gill and produced at DSI London!

Claudia's Ballroom Dress

You would be forgiven for thinking this dress was a Navy and Nude combo. The beautiful glow from underneath the navy top layers was actually created using DSI Champagne fabric. This colour combination is a wonderful take on the classic and was perfect for the dance floor. The waisted full skirt suits Claudia so well. The volume in the skirt was created with Champagne Twinkle dance fabric and perfectly coordinating crinoline. Cobalt Sew-on Jewellery stones were applied precisely to not only to edge the sweet heart shape but also above the waist band. The colour and sparkle from these rhinestones is absolutely dazzling.

Oti's Salsa Dress

This dress certainly has the wow factor! The intense densely packed rhinestones where all carefully applied by hand, time consuming detailed work but so worth it! Tonal shades of Siam, Light Siam, Hyacinth, Sun and Citrine rhinestones cover both the top skirt. Fringe is typically used horizontally but here we see it applied vertically. Used in this way the fringe creates eye-catching movement in an innovative striking way. The shades of fringe selected including Burgundy, Flamenco, Scarlet, Flame and Tangerine compliment the rhinestones perfectly.
