Halloween week brings a fantastic challenge for Strictly Come Dancing costume designer Vicky Gill to masterfully mix together the spooktacular characters with the requirements and style of Ballroom and Latin dancing. Featured this week are two of the stunning dresses produced at DSI London for the show, Oxana's dress for her Paso Doble and Laura's dress for her Tango.
This beautiful dress was also featured on 'It Takes Two' and for good reason! The dramatic dress was skilfully hand painted to bring to life the vision of a butterfly. Both Judge Rinder and Oxana's looks featured hand painted georgette wing like floats along with the hand painted skirt. The theme continues with the symmetrical black guipure lace embellished with Preciosa rhinestones. Our delicate galaxy flock mesh covered with fine flocked dots was used for the neckline and sleeves. A simple black belt anchors the look.
The star of this dramatic Tango dress is the gorgeous new Sonata Stretch lace from DSI London. The Sonata lace has a bold open floral pattern which looks incredible layered over Tan dance fabric especially when embellished with coordinating rhinestones and sew on stones. The simple silhouette looks gorgeous on Laura. Black georgette godets create a subtle sheer skirt. The fashionable strap design creates a sexy and dramatic feel.
