New Argentine Tango syllabus!

DSI London is now stocking the NATD Tango Argentino: Syllabus and Reference Book. Created by the Alternative Rhythms Committee of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing, the book is a welcome addition to the technique guides that exist for Ballroom and Latin.

Chairman of the Alternative Rhythms Committee, Phil Meacham, explains: “As dance professionals, we need to keep up to date with current trends and styles.  If we just assume that our extensive knowledge of Ballroom and Latin American is all we ever need, we will be using a very short-sighted approach.

“Luckily the superbly forward-thinking board of directors at the NATD seem generally happy to support my committee’s ideas and grant our sometime strange and revolutionary requests.”

Phil means the decision to take the emerging “styles”, such as the Argentine Tango, to the teachers rather than expecting the teachers to try and find help.
