Last week it wasn’t just the Strictly bus making its way up to Blackpool: many of DSI’s Elite Performers and sponsored dancers also travelled to the iconic town to take part in the British National Dance Championships, which took place in the Winter Gardens.
It was well worth the journey as our dancers achieved some brilliant results!
Huge congratulations to DSI Elite Performers Nathan Storey and Olivia Smorga, who won both the Juvenile Ballroom and Latin championships, and to Evan Holmes and Lili Crane Morris, who came third in the Juvenile Ballroom and fifth in Latin.
Congratulations, too, to Maxim Morris and Olivia King, who came third in the Junior Ballroom and sixth in the Junior Latin.
DSI Elite Performer Oliver Beardmore and his partner Zoe Cunningham won a brilliant victory in the Under 21 Latin Championship and came fifth in the Under 21 Ballroom, while Glenn-Richard Boyce and Cäroly Jänes were runners-up in both Under 21 events, and Ella Perry and her partner Kristofer Ponomarenko came sixth in the Under 21 Latin.
Our congratulations, too, to Lloyd Perry and Rebecca Scott, who came second in the Amateur Latin and Luke Miller and Ellie Beacock, who came fourth in the same event.
In the Amateur Ballroom, DSI Elite Performer Bettina Hatfield and partner Vadym Negrebetski came fourth, with India Phillips-Bullock and her partner Roman Sukhomlyn in sixth place.
Finally, DSI Elite Performer Gunnar Gunnarsson and his partner Marika Doshoris returned as winners of the prestigious Professional Latin.
All our dancers did us proud in the Empress Ballroom this year at the Nationals and we’re very proud of each and every one of them! Find out more about them here in our Hall of Fame: www.dsi-london.com/dancer
