Introducing Michal and Sandra!

DSI Elite Performers Michal Le and Sandra Jablonska are quickly becoming unstoppable. The Warsaw-based pair are now regular finalists at major Amateur Ballroom championships, including the Worlds, Europeans and UK Open.

Their other excellent results include: winning the Polish Amateur Ballroom Championship, triumphing in the International Under 21 Ballroom and the WDC European Under 21 Ballroom and coming second in the UK Open Rising Star.

But the competition that means the most to them is winning the Amateur Rising Star Ballroom at Blackpool in 2016, “because of the history of the competition and also, leading up to that moment, we went through many difficult moments and tough decisions”, they explain. “It was a beautiful reward for us.”

Blackpool Dance Festival is one of their favourite championships, as is the Dutch Open. “Both of those competitions provide an absolutely unique atmosphere and are totally different to each other,” they say. “They’re both great.”

One of their standout moments of their careers has been when they first started working with their main teacher, Augusto Schiavo, with whom they have trained since November 2014.

They joined forces with DSI London in January 2017 and say: “Emma and the whole team always create the most beautiful dresses for Sandra, even if there is not much time left before a comp.”

Michal and Sandra, who have danced together since April 2013, say that their personalities are completely different. “The only thing we have in common is that we both like dancing,” they laugh. “But we are a team, we trust each other and are completely honest.”
