Now a much-loved date on the calendar, Freedom to Dance was founded by ballroom legends Richard and Anne Gleave. This year’s event, which took place on 13 May at the Copthorne Hotel Effingham Gatwick, was brought to you by Tony and Amanda Dokman, Jonathan Crossley and John Wood. Its commitment to “freedom to dance” was just as strong as ever, with all competitors from all associations very welcome to join in.

Freedom to Dance was the first of DSI TV’s free events on the run-up to Blackpool, the highlight of the ballroom calendar. The next one is the Carl Alan Awards on 19 May, followed by the Killick Royale on 21 May.

To make the most of Blackpool Dance Festival itself, now is the best time to subscribe to ensure you don’t miss a thing during the busiest time of the ballroom year. Monthly subscriptions cost just £9.99 (+ VAT). For more information, see www.dsi-london.tv
