Bulletin from Blackpool

Last week concluded an action-packed 10 days in Blackpool for DSI’s Elite Performers and sponsored dancers. Kicking off on 30th March with the WDC AL European Championships, which ran until 1st April, the dance extravaganza in the Empress Ballroom continued with the weeklong Junior Blackpool Dance Festival.

And, as usual, Team DSI did us proud! In fact, it seems that three really was the lucky number at the Europeans with DSI Elite Performers Igor Reznik and Mariia Polishchuk taking third in the Amateur Ballroom, DSI’s Lloyd Perry and Rebecca Scott achieving a fantastic third place in the Amateur Latin and DSI Elite Performer Gunnar Gunnarsson and his partner Marika Doshoris also coming third in the Professional Latin.  

Last, but by no means least, DSI Elite Performers Maxim Morris and Olivia King came third in the North of England Junior Ballroom during the Junior Festival, while DSI Elite Performer Ella Perry came third in the Junior European Championship with her partner Kristofer Ponomarenko. The talented pair were also placed fifth in the British Junior Latin Championship.

Our sponsored dancers Michal Le and Sandra Jablonska also did brilliantly well at the Europeans coming sixth in the Amateur Ballroom, with DSI Elite Performers Glenn-Richard Boyce and Cäroly Jänes coming sixth in the Under 21 Latin.

DSI Elite Performer Oliver Beardmore and his partner, Zoe Cunninghan, made the Under 19 Latin final. Finally, our youngest DSI Elite Performers Francis Carty and Kerry Sui finished seventh in the Juvenile Viennese Waltz at the Junior Festival.
