Blackpool: Thursday

The British National Dance Championships, running from 16 to 18 November this year in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, are always a wonderful chance to see the very best of British dancing.

This year, we had to plenty to celebrate at DSI with our Elite Performers and sponsored dancers, including our very own Sam Hunter and Shannon Fitzgerald, doing us proud.

On Thursday, Glenn-Richard Boyce and Cäroly Jänes won the British National Under 21 Latin Championship – a brilliant achievement for their very first year dancing in this category.

Throughout the rounds Glenn wore DSI’s Hematite Barcelona Stretch Gabardine couture trouser with a Hematite Crepe and Mesh couture Junior shirt.  Cäroly wore a gorgeous Lilac Mesh couture dress embellished with Crystal AB sew-on stones and flat-backs, as well as Light Rose and Violet flat-backs.

For the final, Cäroly lit up the room in a Metallic Lycra couture dress with accents of Tan Mesh and Georgette stoned with Crystal AB sew-on stones, as well as Light Colorado Topaz and Aurum. Glenn wore a couture Crepe Junior shirt with scarf detailing on the front.

DSI sponsored dancers India Phillips-Bullock and her partner, Thorkell Jonsson, were placed sixth in the North of England Ballroom Championships. India wore a Flamenco Smooth velvet couture dress with Georgette godets, exquisitely embellished with Preciosa Oval sew-on stones around the neckline. Congratulations to all our dancers!
