What is the key to making the perfect Ballroom dress? Our new videos share this secret – and much more besides…

In fact, you may recognise a familiar face or two when you come behind the scenes with us at DSI London to meet the team of people behind the costumes on Strictly Come Dancing and showcased on the competition floor all over the world.

First, our Made in London video reveals how every DSI garment, from our dazzling couture Ballroom and Latin dresses to our practicewear, menswear and even our Juvenile clothing, is brought to life by hand in our south London studio.

Look out for owners of DSI London, Malcolm Hearn and Gerald Schwanzer, as well as Strictly Come Dancing’s costume designer, Vicky Gill, and DSI’s couture manager, Theresa Hewlett, who all share their insights into the blood, sweat and rhinestones that go into making the dazzling dancewear you see on stage, screen and the competition floor.

The second video focuses on DSI London’s vital role as a one-stop dance shop. As Malcolm Hearn puts it: “I think one of the things I’m most proud of is that we’re now able to supply anybody with products for the Ballroom and Latin dancer, whether it’s a beginner or a world champion…”
