Tomorrow night might be the Halloween edition of Strictly, but last week saw wardrobe fireworks! Designer Vicky Gill had a trick of two up her sleeve when Ruth Langsford and Anton Du Beke thrilled us all with an amazing costume change for their samba.
With Ruth initially dressed in blue as a flight attendant and Anton as a suited passenger, the pair threw off their demure outer layers to reveal eye-poppingly dazzling costumes for a party on the plane.
It was pink sequinned trousers and ruffles galore for Anton in a tribute to iconic film Strictly Ballroom. Meanwhile, Ruth’s glorious creation was made from DSI’s Flame red and tan Mesh over a Lycra body, with Flame red, Hawaiian pink and Cerise Mesh ruffles on the skirt. The icing on the cake was the stunning embellishment of Hyacinth, Rose, Light Siam and Citrine rhinestones.
The style of Alexandra Burke’s samba with Gorka Marquez was rather different with much more of an understated urban feel to it, but Vicky reached for the fringe to stunning effect. Alexandra was made from DSI’s Lime Crepe and Fringe, with our limited edition green lace on the body of the dress, topped with Topaz, Crystal Aurum and Peridot embellishment.
Our third featured dress this week is very different again. For her moving waltz with Aston Merrygold, Janette Manrara wore an elegant, ethereal creation made from a base of tan and Camellia mesh, with a gorgeously light Camellia Satin skirt, with the matt side showing, with Camellia Georgette pieces on it, which gave it a wonderful sense of movement on the floor, as well as Topaz, Jonquil and Transmission stoning.
We hope you are looking forward to the Halloween edition of Strictly as much as we are this year! As always, do get in touch on social media and let us know your favourite costumes!
